Filippiboats dominated the first day of the World Cup's 1st stage in Varese, Italy, winning 17 out of 32 heats raced. Our hulls secured victories in preliminaries with Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Ukraine, Great Britain, and Ireland. This success reflects a continued trend, with over 60% of crews opting for Filippi boats in international competitions, confirming our reliability and performance.
In the lightweight single sculls finals, Filippiboats clinched two medals: gold for Italy in the men’s single and bronze for Netherlands in the women’s single. Looking back at the 'A' finals, where Filippi boats were represented by 43 crews from 14 countries out of 83, we witnessed intense competition, particularly against flagships from Great Britain and the Netherlands. The repechages saw Italy's men's 8+ narrowly edge out Germany and Romania, positioning themselves for a shot at securing a place in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In the day finals, Filippiboats secured an impressive haul of 9 gold, 7 silver, and 10 bronze medals, totaling 26 podium finishes. Noteworthy victories include Italian crews triumphing over reigning world champions from Great Britain and former champs from Switzerland in the men's four and lightweight men's double events. Italy's women's 8+ also emerged victorious, defeating teams from Great Britain and Romania, bolstering their prospects for upcoming Olympic qualification reps.
