World Rowing Cup II 2023: Filippi results

16-18 Jun 2023, Varese, ITA

For Filippiboats, the 2nd edition of the Rowing World Cup ended with a balance of 13 gold medals over two days of finals at the Schiranna on Lake Varese (Italy).

6 gold on Saturday with the three successes of Italy in men’s lightweight category with single scull, pair and quad, the one of France in the women's lightweight single scull; then Brazil won in PR2 women's single scull. Ukraine’s success in PR3 men’s pair. In the above mentioned races we caught further silver (3) and bronze (2) medals.

On Sunday four golds of Olympic interest, with the italian senior double blue (F17) of Rambaldi and Sartori, the reigning European vice-champions of the specialty, women’s pair (F13) of Australia, women’s four (F52) of the United States and GB women’s lightweight double (F13) of the reigning European and World Champions Emily Craig and Imogen Grant, who in the semifinal set the new world record of the specialty with 6.40.47.

The last three most valuable medals camefrom Ukraine (PR1 M1x), Norway (PR1 W1x) and Great Britain (PR2 Mix2x) in the Paralympic specialties. Moreover we counted 12 silver and 10 bronze medals on the last day of competition. So totally we got 40 overall medals (Italy with 10 medals and USA with 5 at the top of our company’s table) which is not a surprise given that there were 166 (60.6%) Filippi boats at the kick off of the competition.
