From September 6 to 8, 2024, the stunning seafront of Genoa, Italy, hosted the World Coastal Rowing Championships, where our athletes delivered outstanding performances on the international stage. At Filippi Boats, we are proud to have supported rowers from around the world with our innovative and high-performance boats, contributing to a remarkable 57% of all medals won throughout the event.
Highlights of the event included standout performances by the women’s quad from New Zealand, led by Olympic medalist Emma Twigg, who claimed victory in their heat using the newly restyled Filippi F82.
In the men’s races, Dutch rowers Finn Florin and Lennart Van Lierop, both Olympic champions, captured first place in the men’s quad on the redesigned F81.
Additionally, a victory in the women’s single scull was achieved by the Azerbajan in the F87 hull. Despite the disqualification of Diana Dimchenko that cost us another gold medal, the overall results in the endurance specialty confirmed our continuous commitment in innovating our hulls.
In total, the endurance races culminated with an impressive medal haul for Filippi athletes: 5 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals. Our F81 and F82 models proved to be game-changers, with the men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles from Ukraine, Austria, and Spain claiming gold medals, while the men’s and women’s fours from Ukraine and the Netherlands also triumphed on the F82.
We are thrilled by these achievements and grateful to all the athletes who chose to row with Filippi. Their victories, hard work, and dedication mirror our own commitment to continuous innovation and excellence. As we celebrate these milestones, our focus now shifts to the upcoming Beach Sprint World Championships, where we aim to continue pushing the boundaries of performance.
