After Alex Selvig, a dean among the Filippi dealers and Alastair Isherwood from Perfect Rowing Australia, we have decided to chat with Stany Delayre, certainly one of the youngest – if not the youngest – representatives of our dealer team. His inclusion in our sales network dates back to October 2018.
His company entrusts its image to a communication agency and is present in all major national and international competitions. After all, Stany’s Palmares speaks loud and clear: as an athlete of the French Federation on the Filippi boat, he nearly won the Olympic bronze at London 2012, paired with Jeremy Azou. Who better than he can tell the brand's evolution and suggest the most suitable model to customers?
Yes, SD Rowing, my company, is based there (Dordogne region, South-West of France). For all the wine lovers, we are a few kilometers away from Montbazillac and an hour and a half drive from Bordeaux. I run the company by myself. Thanks to twenty years of rowing experience and thirteen years in the French team, I can put my skills and competence at the disposal of my customers to allow them to choose the best boat according to their target. At the moment we haven’t the possibility to allow our customers to test or to lend Filippi boats. But we hope to be able to offer this service soon.
My customers love to get accurate suggestions about Filippi boats to choose the most suitable hulls for their goals. They also wish prompt reactions to their order of spare parts. In my opinion, the after-sales service must be perfect. Considering the final price of the boat, customers expect a perfect product. In fact, the customers are often clubs with low budgets. They buy Filippi for the quality of the boats, materials and finishing. .
Of course. In the lightweight category, I was an international rower for France from 2005 (when I was 17) to 2017. My personal Palmares says: twice world champion, three times vice world champion, three times European champion, 4th place at the Olympics in London 2012. I also won Henley royal regatta in 2014. Together with my mate, Jeremy Azou, on the lightweight double, we were elected “crew of the year” in 2015 by Fisa. We got such results in a lightweight double or a lightweight quad, always with a Filippi boat. I have been coaching at Aviron Bergerac since 2007. .
In 2022 I will be attending all the National Championships (both river and coastal) as well as the World Master Championships that will take place in Libourne (France).
Despite a 2020 hit by covid, I got my best business result in 2021. The “fight together” offer, promoted by Filippi to support the clubs in this troubled time, was truly appreciated by the customers.
I’m convinced that coastal rowing will allow new sportsmen to approach our discipline. The beach is very spectacular and diversifies the offer of our sport for all the media of the world.
Filippi boats are the most performing ones because they have the best ergonomic profile. The shells are designed to get the highest speeds and the interior configuration allows multiple adjustments to make the placement of the rower easier. Moreover, I have been impressed by the familiar atmosphere you can find at the boatyard. Each person has a role in the building process and each boat is unique. You can find all the Italian know-how in the construction of these fantastic boats that are still partly handcrafted, and whose components are made in Italy.
